The Line Is Daring You To Fade The Home Court Grind

Fairleigh Dickinson sits at 11-17 overall, but that record masks the story — they're 8-5 at home and just 3-12 on the road. This is a team that transforms in Rothman Center. New Haven comes in 4-10 away from their gym, averaging just 64.2 PPG while allowing opponents to push the pace into grinder territory. The books hung FDU -2.5, and I think they're begging you to take the visitor getting points in what projects as an absolute rock fight.

Here's the edge: Fairleigh Dickinson's offensive firepower at home is drastically undervalued. They trot out five double-digit scorers led by Manny Ubilla (20.8 PPG, 42.9% from three), Andre Harris (18.8 PPG), and Sean Baptiste (18.5 PPG). That's three legitimate scoring threats — New Haven has zero players averaging over 13.4 PPG. Jabri Fitzpatrick leads a punchless Chargers attack that shoots just 30.5% from three and struggles to crack 65 points on the road. FDU's home splits aren't fully in the data, but look at their recent results: 74-58 over Stonehill, 66-59 over Saint Francis, 55-52 over Mercyhurst — all wins at home in low-to-mid-60s totals. They defend, they execute, and they cover.

The pace concern is real — both teams play slow, turnover-light basketball. But FDU's offensive depth is the separator. New Haven just beat Stonehill 64-51 at home, then gets a short-rest road spot against a Knights team coming off a 60-59 gutsy road win at Chicago State. FDU should be -4 or -5 here based on home/away splits and offensive talent gap. The market is giving you a gift at -2.5 because of FDU's overall record, which is inflated by a brutal 3-12 road mark.

Lay the points. FDU's balanced attack and home-court advantage should push them to a 68-60 type win. I'm also eyeing the Under 122.5 as a secondary — both teams play deliberate, and road games for New Haven have consistently stayed in the 50s-60s range. But the sharp play is the side.
