The Patriot League's Two Ships Passing in the Night

Lehigh just ripped off four wins in five games, while Bucknell is limping to the finish line at 9-21 with a roster that can't shoot threes to save their season. This line feels too tight. The Mountain Hawks are rolling at home (9-5), and Bucknell has been an absolute disaster on the road (4-12) — but more importantly, they're getting torched defensively and can't generate enough offense to keep pace when teams get hot.

Here's the angle: Lehigh's three-headed shooting monster vs Bucknell's putrid perimeter defense. Nasir Whitlock (42.2% from three), CJ McCollum (42.1%), and Jose Olivero (40.8%) form one of the most efficient three-point attacks in the Patriot League. Bucknell allows opponents to shoot 35.2% from deep and gives up 70+ regularly on the road. Meanwhile, Bucknell's 29.0% from three is a liability — when you can't stretch the floor, you can't hang with a team scoring 78, 70, 90, and 78 in four of their last six.

The recent form split is glaring. Lehigh just dropped 78 on American on the road three days ago. Bucknell squeaked past Army 75-73 but needed overtime heroics — and before that, they got boat-raced by Holy Cross, American, and Boston by double digits. The Bison turn it over 16.7 times per game (compared to Lehigh's 14.2), and against a team averaging 7.5 steals, that's blood in the water.

Bucknell's also brutal at the line (66.9% vs Lehigh's 73.2%), which matters in a tight Patriot League game where fouls pile up late. But this one won't be tight. Lehigh's at home, playing with momentum, and Bucknell doesn't have the shooting or defensive discipline to keep it close. Five and a half feels like a gift when one team is surging and the other is just trying to survive the season.

The Pick: Lehigh -5.5 (-110) | 3 units

Secondary Play: Under 140.5 (-115) | 2 units
Bucknell's offense is anemic (64.9 PPG), and while Lehigh can score, they've also played some tight defensive games (70-67 vs BU, 49-72 at Navy). With Bucknell's brutal three-point shooting limiting possessions and Lehigh controlling tempo at home, I like this to stay under the inflated number.
