South Florida Rolls Past Outmatched Tulane in Sunday Matinée

The Green Wave just got boat-raced by Tulsa 90-56 at home four days ago — the kind of loss that exposes structural weaknesses, not just a bad shooting night. Now they travel to Tampa to face a South Florida squad that's won six straight and just demolished Rice 75-56 on the road with four days rest. The Bulls are 11-3 at home and have become an absolute nightmare matchup for teams that can't control the glass.

Here's the angle the market is undervaluing: South Florida's offensive rebounding dominance against Tulane's interior fragility. The Bulls rank top-40 nationally in offensive rebounding rate (12.8 per game), and Tulane just allowed Tulsa to completely dominate them in the paint. South Florida has three bigs averaging double-digit boards — Gransberry (10.8), Nelson (9.9), Leather (9.6) — while Tulane's best rebounder Timmons is at 8.3. When USF gets second-chance points flowing, they suffocate teams with volume. They hung 109 on UTSA, 87 on Memphis, and 80 on Tulsa in their last six games.

The spread sits at 14.5 (Fanatics/Caesars at 14), and I'm laying the lumber. Tulane's 7-3 road record looks solid, but dig deeper: their wins came against Charlotte, East Carolina twice, and Temple — bottom-feeders. South Florida's home losses were to UAB and Memphis early in the season before they figured out their rotation. This current version is a different animal, and conference home games in March mean everything. The Bulls' pace (15.9 APG, high tempo) will push this into the 70s, and Tulane doesn't have the depth to keep up after that Tulsa blowout.

The Pick: South Florida -14.5 at -110 | 4 Units

The Bulls win this by 20+. Gransberry and Nelson feast inside, and Tulane's still reeling from getting embarrassed. This feels like 82-63 type game. If you can grab 14 flat at Caesars, even better — but I'm comfortable at the full number.

Secondary Play: Under 155.5 at -105 | 2 Units

South Florida's defense clamps in conference play (held Rice to 56, Wichita to 58). Tulane just scored 56 against Tulsa and will struggle to crack 60 here. This stays in the 140s.
