Chicago’s path to covering +10.5 is hitting shots early and keeping the game in the 220s; OKC’s path is turning it into a grind where every possession is a job interview.

Two angles I don’t think the line fully prices in:

1) Pace/shot quality squeeze. OKC is coming off a 100-87 road win in Dallas — that’s not random; it’s what they do when they get set defensively. When the Thunder are engaged, opponents’ “comfortable” offensive possessions disappear, and big underdogs struggle to generate enough efficient points to hang around even if OKC’s offense is merely average.

2) Chicago’s recent home volatility is a red flag, not a green light. Yes, they just had a great defensive result vs Milwaukee, but zoom out: in their last six at home they’ve been held under 105 points three times and have multiple double-digit losses. That’s the profile of a team that can look fine when the jumper falls, and get buried when it doesn’t — exactly what you worry about against a top-tier road team (OKC is 22-8 away, no fear of the building).

I’m laying it with Oklahoma City. The Thunder are the more consistent team possession-to-possession, and both clubs are on equal rest (2 days), so there’s no fatigue excuse to keep this artificially close. Chicago’s best-case script still needs them to score efficiently; OKC’s defense makes that a fragile bet.
