The Wrong Road Warrior Gets the Points

This line screams trap for the wrong side. UAB rolls in as a tiny 1.5-point favorite, and the casual money sees a team that's 10-2 on the road against a sub-.500 Charlotte squad that just blew a late lead at FAU. Easy UAB money, right? Wrong.

Here's what the books know that the public doesn't: Charlotte is a completely different animal at home (11-6) versus away (4-8). That's a 7-game swing, and they've hung in with everyone at home recently — lost by 1 to North Texas, lost by 9 to a red-hot UTSA squad but led late. Meanwhile, UAB just got held to 58 points at home by that same North Texas team. Fifty-eight. Their offense vanished when they needed it most.

The pace matchup here is critical. Charlotte grinds (68.4 PPG), UAB wants to run (77.6 PPG). When UAB can't push tempo, their efficiency craters — see that Memphis loss where they scored 54, or the Tulane game where they put up... 54 again.
